Southwest Diagnostics is ranked as an “Imaging Center of Excellence” by the American College of Radiology. We value the expertise in preventative and diagnostic testing provided by the technologists and radiologists at Southwest Diagnostic Imaging Center.

We offer various preventative imaging services including:

Coronary Artery Calcium Score (CT Heart)

This test is used to detect calcified plaque in the coronary arteries which supply the muscles of the heart to help assess the risk of coronary artery disease. Preventative CT heart scans are performed on men and women age 40 and older based on recommendations from Dr. Elovitz.

CT Scan (Chest, Abdomen and Pelvis)

This test is used to detect abnormalities in the lungs, heart, liver, gall bladder, pancreas, kidneys, uterus, bladder, adrenal glands, intestines, and lymph nodes, and can detect calcified plaque built up in the aorta to help assess the risk of coronary artery disease. Preventative CT scans are performed on men and women age 40 and older based on recommendations from Dr. Elovitz.

Mammogram

A mammogram is performed with state-of-the-art 3D imaging technology to assess the breast tissue for abnormalities. Mammograms are recommended for women age 40 and older unless otherwise recommended by Dr. Elovitz. Based upon breast density, screening breast ultrasounds are utilized to further assess the underlying breast tissue.

Carotid Ultrasound

A carotid ultrasound is performed to detect plaque in the carotid and vertebral arteries, and to determine the severity of the blockage. Carotid ultrasounds are performed on men and women age 60 and older based on recommendations from Dr. Elovitz.
